The Radio-Stuff.com Ground Plane Radial Disk (GPRD) is expertly designed for portable use, offering a remarkably simple solution for connecting radials to your antenna. Whether you’re setting up in the field or experimenting at home, this product makes the process quick and efficient.

Version 1.02 of our GPRD now features banana plugs, making setup even faster than before. Radials are easily connected by simply pushing each one into place, ensuring a hassle-free experience—even in cold weather.

The GPRD consists of an 8 cm PCB disk with eight radial connection points. It comes with eight 4mm panel mount banana sockets and plugs (available in red or black, depending on stock). Assembly is minimal—just add wire to the banana plugs, and you're ready to go!

This compact disk is ideal for positioning above your ground spike and below your antenna connector, offering a practical and efficient setup for portable operations.

Why Use Radials with a Portable Ground Plane?

Radials are essential for enhancing antenna performance, especially in portable setups. They act as the "ground" component of the antenna system, improving efficiency and signal strength.

By spreading radials around the base of your antenna, you create a more effective ground plane, leading to better overall performance.  The general rule is the more radials you have the better.

The GPRD allows you to easily experiment with different radial configurations, helping you find the optimal setup for your location and frequency.

For the best results, we recommend using at least eight radials, but four will work well for quick activations.

Note!

Radial wire is not included.
